The Pentagon Opened a Protected Lane for UAP Testimony
A new waiver lets current and former US defence personnel take protected UAP information to designated investigators without triggering ordinary NDA penalties. It is a narrow lane, not public declassification.
What Changed
The US Department of War created a new disclosure route on 14 September for people with protected information about unidentified anomalous phenomena. Its official release authorises current and former service members, civilian staff and contractors to speak directly to designated representatives of the government's PURSUE project.
For those communications, the waiver supersedes civil and administrative enforcement provisions in US non-disclosure agreements and Special Access Program Indoctrination Agreements. The department says the goal is to collect material for security review and possible declassification.
The lock changed. The archive has not automatically opened.
What It Does Not Do
This is not permission to publish classified material, post it online or bypass every secrecy law. The protection is restricted to disclosures made through the authorised PURSUE channel.
The release also does not confirm that any extraordinary programme exists. It confirms a government process for receiving claims and records from people who say ordinary agreements prevented them from speaking.

The Context
PURSUE has already been collecting records from federal agencies and releasing reviewed UAP files in stages. This waiver is different from another document drop. It targets the supply side of the archive by trying to bring previously restricted testimony and material into a formal review system.
The next signal is not the loudest allegation. It is whether the department identifies a usable intake process, whether new records survive security review, and whether any resulting evidence reaches the public with enough sensor and provenance data to test.
The barrier has been lowered for official testimony. The burden of proof has not moved an inch.
